Books make great  holiday gifts!

Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration, November 22nd 6-8 pm

Join in the celebration with the 2013 Vintage Beaujolais Nouveau from Damien Dupeuble, known for 501 years of excellence in producing Beaujolais Nouveau, whole cluster fermentation, using native, wild yeasts.

Celebration will also include French and string music from Hot Band of Hillsboro (*this is a slight change in music), French inspired appetizers, and if Beaujolais is not what your palate desires you can choose from The World’s Largest Selection of Oregon Wines, or any of the other thousands of wines, beers or ciders available at Primrose & Tumbleweeds.

Beaujolais Nouveau is a traditional celebration that began as a way to celebrate the end of the harvest in Paris.  In the 1970’s it became a national event, becoming popular in the United States in the 1980’s.  Wines are released the third Thursday in November, must be hand harvested and can only be produced from Gamay grapes coming from the appellations of Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages.  Fresh, fruity wines, meant to be drunk young.

We need your vote!

One of our customers told us about this great opportunity and now we need your help!  You made it happen for the Best of Portland, now help us to be considered for a $250,000 grant.  You will need a facebook account to vote.

This grant opportunity could provide us with the resources we need to speed up our expansion, expand our kitchen and remodel "the other side" as it has become known.  Although we are well underway in both of those projects we know it is going to take us at least a couple of years to get there.  With this grant money we can get moving a little faster.  We so appreciate the community and customer support and encouragement that you all give us on a daily basis we know you'll want to pop over and vote for us.
But just voting won't win the grant.  We have submitted an application detailing our community  involvement, where we started and how far we've come in the last two years.  When we step back and take a look it is pretty impressive isn't it?  We hope to continue to provide you, our customers and community, a warm and welcoming space that you can enjoy whether it is coming in for an afternoon glass of wine, a quick lunch or spending the evening listening to live local musicians, enjoying a thoughtfully prepared dinner and spending an memorable evening with friends or family.  You inspire us and we want to be better for you!

We only have until October 31st to reach the required 250 votes in order to be further considered for this grant.  Please vote today using the link to the right and share with your friends and family so that they can vote too.

Thank you,

Doug & Dawn Sellers
